Abstract

ABSTRACT WULANDARI. The Effect of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) on the Growth and Yield of Bean Plants (Phaseolus vulgaris L.). Supervised by MIRANTY TRINAWATY and RIDWAN HANAN. This study aimed to examine the effect of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) on the growth and yield of Bean plants (Phaseolus vulgaris L.). This research was conducted from February 2025 to April 2025 at the Experimental Field of the Faculty of Agriculture, Tridinanti University, located in Pulau Semambu Village, North Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra Province. The experimental method used was a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with five treatments and five replications. Each experimental unit consisted of three sample plants. The treatments were as follows: P0 = no AMF, P1 = 7.5 g AMF per plant, P2 = 15 g AMF per plant, P3 = 22.5 g AMF per plant, and P4 = 30 g AMF per plant. Observed variables included main vine length (cm), number of primary branches (branches), flowering age (days), number of pods per plant (pods), number of pods per plot (pods), pod weight per plant (g), pod weight per plot (g), and root volume (cm3). The results showed that AMF application significantly affected the growth and yield of green beans, with treatment P2 (15 g AMF per plant) providing the best results, indicated by the highest values for all observed variables. Keywords: Phaseolus vulgaris, Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi
