Abstract

Abstrak Didalam pengembangan dunia transportasi bahan bakar minyak merupakan bahan bakar yang tidak dapat diperbaharui dan akan habis apabila dipakai secara terus menerus, sehingga menjadikan bahan bakar gas menjadi bahan bakar alternatif dan menjadi terobosan dalam pemanfaatan jenis energi baru di dunia transportasi. Didalam penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dampak dari pemakaian secara periodik bentuk lain bahan bakar LPG yaitu bahan bakar cair LPG yang terbentuk dari didalam tangki LPG sebagai bahan bakar alternatif terhadap performa kinerja dari mesin sepeda motor 4 Tak dan emisi gas buang yang dihasilkan. Dan kemudian membandingkannya dengan bahan bakar premium untuk didapatkan data bahan bakar mana yang lebih baik untuk digunakan, dengan mempertimbangkan parameter-parameter performansi mesin seperti mean efektif pressure (mep), break horse power (bhp), specific fuel consumtion (sfc), dan efisiensi termal. Serta parameter-parameter dari ambang batas emisi gas buang kendaraan bermotor lama yang bersumber dari keputusan menteri Lingkungan hidup no 05 tahun 2006, yaitu HC (Hidrokarbon) dan CO (Karbon Monoksida). Dimana data awal dari penelitian ini diperoleh dari alat uji dynamometer yaitu nilai torsi, dan daya yang kemudian akan diolah atas parameter-parameter performansi mesin yang ditentukan. Serta dari alat uji gas analyzer yaitu nilai CO dan HC, yang kemudian akan diolah dan dibandingkan lulus/tidak lulusnya ambang batas emisi gas buang yang telah di atur pada keputusan Menteri Lingkungan Hidup. Kata Kunci : LPG, Premium, 4 TAK, Emisi Gas Buang, Performansi Mesin Abstract The development of the world of oil transportation is a fuel that cannot be renewed and will be depleted if used continuously, thus making gas fuel into an alternative fuel and becoming a breakthrough in the utilization of new types of energy in the world of transportation. In this research aims to determine the impact of periodic use of other forms of LPG product namely LPG liquid fuel that is formed in the LPG tank is empty as a result of the chemical reaction that occurs in the LPG tank as an alternative fuel to the performance of 4 stroke motor engine and exhaust emissions produced. And then compare it with premium fuel for obtaining which fuel data is better to use, considering the parameters and the engine such as mean effective pressure (MEP), brake horse power (BHP), specific fuel consumtion (SFC), and thermal efficiency. As well as the parameters of the old motor vehicle exhaust emission threshold stemming from the decision of the Minister of Environment number 05 of 2006, namely HC (Hydrocarbons) and CO (Carbon Monoxide). Where the initial data from this study is obtained from the dynamometer test tool is the torque value, and the power that will then be processed over the specified engine performance parameters. As well as from the gas analyzer test equipment, the value of CO and HC, which will then be processed and compared to pass/not pass the exhaust emission threshold that has been set in the decision of the Minister of Environment.
