Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa perubahan nilai kekerasan dan struktur mikro dari berbagai macam pendingin cepat, Diberikan perlakuan panas pada temperatur 830℃ lalu dicelup cepat dengan berbagai macam media pendingin air,oli,coolant dan air garam, Hasil diquencing atau celup cepat mengalami peningkatan kekerasan di banding dengan benda asal atau tanpa perlakuan di karnakan quencing atau celup cepat kedalam variasi media pendingin sehingga atom karbon tidak sempat berdifusi, Gambar hasil dari pengamatan struktur mikro menunjukkan adanya perubahan struktur mikro dari pearlit menjadi ferrit dan martensit, martensit mendominasi dan sebagian ferrit, Terdapat perubahan struktur atau butur menjadi halus maka semakin kekerasan meningkat. Kata Kunci: Struktur mikro, Quencing, Temperatur ABSTRAK This study aims to analyze changes in the hardness and microstructure values of various kinds of fast coolers, given heat treatment at a temperature of 830 ℃ then quickly dipping it with a variety of cooling media for water, oil, coolant and salt water. Comparison with the original or untreated object in quencing or fast immersion into a variety of cooling media so that the carbon atoms do not have time to diffuse, The results of the microstructure observations show that there is a change in the microstructure of pearlite to ferrite and martensite, martensite dominates and partly ferrite, There are changes the structure or grain becomes smoother, the more hardness increases.
