Abstract

OCR Relay Settings are something that is needed to optimize the performance of the OCR relay that will be used. What needs to be set on the OCR relay is the Current Setting (Iset) and Time Delay setting for the OCR relay to work based on the characteristics of the OCR relay, for example the OCR relay with Standard Inverse characteristics. This research aims to determine the OCR relay settings on the LVMDP Panel Transmart PCC JL. Radial Palembang, of course there are many things that are needed before determining the OCR relay settings, such as large short circuit interference, large source impedance, large transformer impedance and positive-negative sequence impedance. The research results show that it is not feasible to use the OCR relay settings that are already installed, because the nominal relay settings are far from the nominal peak load used, and the nominal relay settings are far from the magnitude of the short circuit disturbance that occurs. The size of the short circuit that occurs for a 3 phase fault is 1,585 KA and for a 2 phase fault is 1.5 KA; with a nominal peak load used of 1033.4 A; while the nominal setting installed is Iset(Primary) of 2000 A which is different from the research results, where the setting size for the calculation and simulation results is Iset(Primary) 1240.08 A. Because the installed Iset(Primary) value is far from the value current disturbance, the OCR relay will not work at all if a short circuit fault occurs, therefore recalculation and analysis is needed to determine the OCR relay settings to be used, so that the OCR relay can work optimally even when a short circuit fault occurs.
