Abstract

In this modern era, environmental challenges and transportation needs are two very relevant things. Converting a bicycle into a water bicycle could be an interesting innovation to answer these two challenges. This concept combines the ideas of recycling and innovation in one environmentally friendly solution. Therefore, this research aims to design and develop a water bicycle model using used bicycles. It is hoped that the results of this research can contribute to the fields of design and technology, as well as help society make transportation more environmentally friendly and energy efficient. Based on the results of testing and equipment calculations, the buoyancy force value was 1,920.8 N, the speed of the water bike was 0.2 m/s, the thrust force was 37.2 N, the chain speed was 1.2573 m/s2, the chain length was 1,97435 m, twisting moment of 113.7 kg.cm. This modification and design was carried out with the hope that the results of this research can contribute to the fields of design and technology, as well as help society make transportation more environmentally friendly and energy efficient.
