Abstract
Power transmission protection is applied to power transmission so that if there is a disruption, the equipment related to power transmission will not be damaged, so as to optimize the protection system. In this thesis, the author will discuss the calculation of short circuits and the calculation of Zone 1, Zone 2 and Zone 3 impedances on transmission lines on the conductors from the Sungai Juaro Main Substation to the Borang Main Substation. Based on the calculation results obtained at the 10% fault point, the 1-phase short circuit fault current to ground (If) will be greater, which is 194.59811 A. While the fault point is further away from the source or the greater the percentage of the line length, namely at the 100% fault point, the 1-phase short circuit fault current to ground is smaller, which is 189,00132 A. then for the calculation of the distance relay impedance, namely Zone1 = 22.01348187 Ω, Zone2 = 35.55996296 Ω, Zone3 = 53.33994419 Ω. it can be concluded that the results of this calculation compared to those that have been installed in the field, the results are not too far apart, so the relay settings are expected to work optimally and run as expected.
