Abstract

This study aims to analyze the operational effectiveness of Gantry Jib Crane-01 (GJC-01) at PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok Palembang Branch for the period of January to November 2025 using the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) approach through Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) indicators and comparing it with Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM) standards using Performance Benchmarking. Since the equipment does not record unit cycle data, the performance rate is calculated using a time-based performance approach through actual utilization values. The results indicate that the availability rate ranges from 0.00% to 87.47%, the performance rate from 0.00% to 94.29%, and the quality rate is 100%, yielding an OEE score between 0.00% and 32.49%—far below the JIPM world-class standard of 85%. The Six Big Losses analysis identifies Breakdown Losses (5,518.6 hours) and Idling and Minor Stoppages Losses (256.4 hours) as the dominant causes of reduced effectiveness. Furthermore, the MTTR value expanded to 744.00 hours, confirming managerial bottlenecks in imported spare parts procurement. Performance Benchmarking reveals structural gaps across all OEE pillars except the quality rate. Consequently, improvement recommendations based on the eight pillars of TPM are formulated with measurable targets to sustainably enhance equipment reliability and operational effectiveness.
