Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of compensation and training on work motivation and its implications for the performance of the employees of the South Sumatra Province Industry Service. This study used the SEM method lined Partial Least Square (PLS). The population in this study amounted to 56 employees of the industrial service of South Sumatra province. Sampling using census sampling technique, namely taking all employees. The results of this study indicate that the compensation variable has a positive and significant effect on work motivation at P-Value 0.005 ≤ 0.05. The training variable has a positive and significant effect on work motivation at P-Value 0.002 ≤ 0.05. The variables of compensation, training and motivation have a positive and significant effect on the performance of the employees of the industrial service of the province of South Sumatra, respectively 0.000, 0.003, and 0.001. There is an indirect effect of the compensation variable on performance through motivation as large as P-Value 0.019 ≤ 0.05. So it can be concluded that there is a positive and significant effect of compensation on performance through employee work motivation at the Department of Industry, South Sumatra Province. There is an indirect effect that training has an effect on performance through motivation of P-Value 0.013 ≤ 0.05. So it can be concluded that there is a positive and significant effect of training on performance through employee work motivation at the South Sumatra Provincial Industry Service.
