Abstract

ANALISIS PENGGUNAAN LIMBAH KARET BAN BEKAS PADA CAMPURAN ASPAL DENGAN METODE MARSHALL Richardo Panjaitan1 , Hariman Al Faritzie2, Zuul Fitriana Umari3 Teknik Sipil, Universitas Tridinanti Jl. Kapten Marzuki No.2446, 20 Ilir D. III, Kec. Ilir Tim. I, Kota Palembang ABSTRACT: Indonesia is one of the second largest rubber producing countries in the world, in 2011 it produced 2,982,000 tons of natural rubber, in this case Indonesia contributed 27.06%. originating from smallholder plantations. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of tire waste in used vehicles on the characteristics of the asphalt using the Marshall where the test objects that used the added material for waste tires in used vehicles were 0% 2%, 4%, and 6%, respectively, as many as 3 specimens. Researchers conducted experiments on the dependent variable, namely the characteristics of Marshall and the independent variable, namely the addition of tire rubber powder in used vehicles in the AC-WC mixture. This test was conducted to determine the value of VIM (Void in the mix), VMA (Void in Mineral Aggregate), VFA (Void Filled With Asphalt), Flow, Stability and MQ (Marshall Quitient). From the results of the research that the content of used tire rubber is in the range of 0% to 6% which fulfills all Marshall parameters, then the middle value is taken and the optimum content of used tire rubber powder is 4%. ABSTRAK : Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara penghasil karet terbesar ke-2 di dunia, pada tahun 2011 menghasilkan sebesar 2.982.000 ton karet alam dalam hal ini Indonesia mempunyai kontribusi terhadap produksi karet dunia sebesar 27,06%. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari limbah ban dalam bekas kendaraan terhadap karakteristik aspal dengan menggunakan pengujian marshall yang menggunakan bahan tambah limbah ban dalam bekas kendaraan 0% 2 %, 4 %, dan 6 % masing masing dibuat sebanyak 3 benda uji. Peneliti melakukan eksperimen terhadap variabel terikat yaitu karakteristik marshall dan variabel bebas yaitu penambahan serbuk karet ban dalam bekas kendaraan pada campuran AC-WC. Pengujian ini dilakukan guna mengetahui nilai dari VIM (Void in the mix), VMA (Void in Mineral Agregate), VFA (Void Filled With Asphalt), Pelelehan (Flow), Stabilitas dan MQ (Marshall Quitient). Dari hasil penelitian bahwa kadar karet ban bekas dengan rentang 0% hingga 6% yang memenuhi semua parameter Marshall, lalu rentang tersebut diambil nilai tengahnya dan didapatlah Kadar serbuk karet ban bekas optimumnya sebesar 4%.
