Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of motivation and competence on employee performance through training at the Regional Human Resources Development Agency of South Sumatra Province. This research was conducted at the Regional Human Resources Development Agency of South Sumatra Province with the object of research of all Civil Servants. The data collection technique was carried out by survey method by distributing questionnaires. While the technical analysis uses the Partial Least Square (PLS) version 3.2.9 program to test the relationship between variables of motivation, competence, training, and performance. The findings of this research show that motivational factors have a favorable and substantial impact and competency variables on training variables. Motivation variables and competency variables and training variables have a positive and significant effect on performance variables. Then the effect of motivation variables and competency variables mediated by training variables has a positive and significant effect on performance variables.
