Abstract
ABSTRACT MUCHLIS SETIAWAN. Performance Analysis of Tunas Mekar Sari Jaya Cooperative in Air Kumbang District, Banyuasin Regency Using the Balanced Scorecard Approach. Supervised by Dr. Nasir, SP, M.Si and Ir. Ursula Damayanti, MP. This study aims to analyze the performance of the Tunas Mekar Sari Jaya Cooperative using the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) approach and to formulate cooperative development strategies through SWOT analysis. Performance assessment is based on four BSC perspectives: financial, customer, internal business processes, and learning and growth. Data collection methods included observation, documentation, and questionnaires distributed to cooperative members and management, followed by both quantitative and qualitative analysis. The results show that from the financial perspective, the cooperative has demonstrated healthy performance, with a Return on Assets (ROA) above the minimum standard and a Current Ratio exceeding 200% over the past three years. From the customer perspective, the satisfaction level reached 77.40%, indicating good satisfaction, although service aspects still need improvement. The internal business process perspective received an average score of 88.67%, reflecting efficient operations and a well-structured system, although data verification needs enhancement. The learning and growth perspective scored 74.08%, showing that human resource development and service quality are progressing well, though continuous training is still needed. The SWOT analysis revealed that the Internal Factor Analysis Summary (IFAS) score of 3.35 indicates dominant internal strengths, especially in terms of loyal human resources, transparent financial systems, and strong relationships between management and members. The External Factor Analysis Summary (EFAS) score of 3.50 suggests that external opportunities such as the trend toward digitalization and potential markets from MSMEs and millennials outweigh threats. It is recommended that the cooperative development strategy focuses on digitalizing services, enhancing promotion through social media, and collaborating with local communities to strengthen the cooperative’s position in an increasingly dynamic competitive environment.
