Abstract
Air conditioner (AC) condensate water is generally discharged as waste, although it has the potential to be utilized as an alternative water source for non-consumptive purposes. This study aims to analyze the effect of evaporator temperature variations on the condensate formation rate and to determine the influence of air temperature and humidity on the amount of condensate produced. An experimental method was conducted using a ½ PK split air conditioner with R32 refrigerant at evaporator temperature settings of 26 °C, 22 °C, and 18 °C. The observed parameters included air temperature, relative humidity, condensate flow rate, and Coefficient of Performance (COP).The results showed that decreasing the evaporator temperature increased the condensate production rate. At evaporator temperatures of 26 °C, 22 °C, and 18 °C, the condensate flow rates were 474 mL, 650 mL, and 710 mL, respectively. The highest condensate production was obtained at an evaporator temperature of 18 °C, reaching 710 mL. The results indicate that differences in air temperature and humidity affect condensate formation, with lower evaporator temperatures promoting greater condensation. Therefore, AC condensate water has the potential to be utilized as an alternative water source for cleaning and other non-consumptive purposes. Keywords: Condensate water, evaporator temperature, air conditioner, air humidity, Coefficient of Performance (COP).
